"Nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy, that includes personal ambition", President Biden told the American people in an address to the nation from the Oval Office on his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. The president highlighted the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris administration and again put his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris to become Democratic presidential nominee. The 2024 Democratic National Convention is scheduled to take place in August.
